AIM unveils a flexible-feeding online calculator platform
— verify and predict optics, feeder, and robot calibration right on the floor
AIM Factory Automation unveiled the AIM Online Calculator Platform, which unifies the design, verification, and prediction of flexible feeding systems online. Built around the flexible feeder (AIVE) and robot-vision environment, it provides calculation results you can use immediately on-site.
🔍 Flexible feeding — now verified and predicted on the web
Flexible feeding handles a wide range of small parts with a single feeder. The platform simulates optics (FOV/focus/error), feeder speed (dead zone/fill rate/recognition rate), robot calibration (mean/max/RMS), and tool accuracy (radius/deviation/grade) in real time on the web.
⚙️ Modules at a glance
- Optics calculator: camera, lens, focal length, part size → auto FOV/error/resolution
- Feeder-speed calculator: model/dead zone/fill rate/recognition rate → cycle time, PPM, efficiency
- Robot calibration: robot vs. vision coordinates → mean/max/RMS error, rotation, scale
- Tool-accuracy analysis: tool center offset/radius/deviation → accuracy grade (≤ ±0.05 mm “excellent”)
※ Results are simulation-based references and may vary by real conditions (part characteristics, equipment).
🧾 Example (feeder-speed calculation)
- Part area 80.00 mm², FOV 24,981.50 mm², 92.3% area utilization at effective FOV
- Combined cycle time 3.21 s/pc, output 18.7 ppm, system efficiency 99.8%
🏭 Field-focused innovation
“We designed it so all verification and prediction of a flexible feeder can be done instantly on-site. By securing optimal conditions before installation, we save engineers’ time.” — AIM Technology Lab
