Silicone part tray auto-feeding with AIVE + RoboEYE (4×6 mm)

4×6 mm transparent silicone parts — impossible for vibratory feeders — fully automated with the AIVE flexible feeder and RoboEYE vision. Groove-orientation recognition, precise correction, existing trays reused. 0% defects, 0% downtime, 30–40 ea/min.

Silicone Tray Feeding System Overview

🧭 Background

  • Transparent silicone (4×6 mm) has high elasticity/surface tension, making it impossible to feed with a bowl feeder.
  • Groove orientation is hard to judge, so front/back sorting and flipping is difficult.
  • It was handled by operators pressing each part into tray cells by hand → fatigue and quality risk.

🧠 AIM solution

1) AIVE flexible feeder

  • Implemented a stretch & flip sequence to fully spread and flip elastic parts.
  • Optimized amplitude/frequency/pattern to minimize overlap and tangling.

2) RoboEYE vision calibration

  • Groove-orientation recognition + precise coordinate correction (±0.05 mm).
  • Computed a precise insertion path for the tray’s tight tolerances.

3) Robot & tray integration

  • Reused the existing tight tray as-is.
  • A dual-tray carrier enables non-stop continuous production.

🎯 Results

  • 0% defects, 0% downtime
  • 30–40 ea/min throughput
  • ✅ Fully replaced 6 operators (day/night)
  • ✅ Applied without any tray mold/spec change
